Youmacon 2009

I got back from RedStar's latest venture, Youmacon, just a few days ago. On Friday night, there was a good turnout for two brand new panels I ran called, "Taming Garment Details" and "The Ways of the Wig." On Saturday morning, I also ran a panel on the Japanese clothing company, A Bathing Ape, which ended up really well.

On Saturday night, we tried something new. DJ Toshi needed some support in getting time slot at the Youmacon dance. I thought maybe putting some friends in costumes and outfits up on the stage with him could help. I'm not sure if that helped in the final push of him making it, but he did. I had six girls, had a couple of us in cosplay and the others in white tanks with our mascot. DJ Toshi played an amazing set and the dancers got down in RedStar gear...in front of 2,000 people.

Thank you to DJ Toshi for having us be a apart of his set. Thanks to all the RedStar dancers: Karin, Kelly, Amanda, Jenny, and Patty. Also, big thanks to the freshest MC Arnell for plugging RedStar Costumes during the set! Thanks also goes out to our makeshift security guys! Last but not least, thank you to that crazy enthusiastic crowd.
