Hello!
The holidays are approaching quickly! Things have slowed down a bit this month for us, but we've kept ourselves busy with plenty of plushie commissions, not to mention all of the Christmas shopping we've had to do! Our next convention will be Ohayocon, located in Columbus Ohio on January 29th-31st. Sadly this time, we were unable to secure an Artist's Alley table. We will however be cosplaying in new outfits! We're both very excited about this, mostly because we have been working so hard on costumes for all of our customers, we haven't gotten a chance to make a costume for ourselves! We've both selected tentative costume plans, but we've made no progress just yet. Once progress starts rolling, I will post again to let everyone know what we will be wearing. :D
For our availability, as of now we have space open for costume orders starting in 2010. We've already received some payments for costumes due in March! So start thinking ahead! Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks guys, and see you at Ohayocon!

Youmacon 2009
I got back from RedStar's latest venture, Youmacon, just a few days ago. On Friday night, there was a good turnout for two brand new panels I ran called, "Taming Garment Details" and "The Ways of the Wig." On Saturday morning, I also ran a panel on the Japanese clothing company, A Bathing Ape, which ended up really well.
On Saturday night, we tried something new. DJ Toshi needed some support in getting time slot at the Youmacon dance. I thought maybe putting some friends in costumes and outfits up on the stage with him could help. I'm not sure if that helped in the final push of him making it, but he did. I had six girls, had a couple of us in cosplay and the others in white tanks with our mascot. DJ Toshi played an amazing set and the dancers got down in RedStar gear...in front of 2,000 people.
Thank you to DJ Toshi for having us be a apart of his set. Thanks to all the RedStar dancers: Karin, Kelly, Amanda, Jenny, and Patty. Also, big thanks to the freshest MC Arnell for plugging RedStar Costumes during the set! Thanks also goes out to our makeshift security guys! Last but not least, thank you to that crazy enthusiastic crowd.

Otakon 2009
Hello all!
Forgive our late response, but we've returned from Otakon in Baltimore! We had an extremely successful table in the Artist's Alley, our best so far! Animal orbs were the hot hot item, and we were more than happy to take orders for them. If you were one of those people who ordered, don't worry! Your orb is in the works and on its way. And don't forget, you can always email us if you have any questions or concerns.
If you'd like to order an animal orb, please email us! We can quote you and give you all other information.
Next up, Red Star Costumes will be hosting our Cosplay 101 panel at Wizard World Chicago! http://www.wizardworld.com/home-ch.html
Our panel will be on Friday at 6:00pm. Check your programming guide for the room location. Hope to see you there!

Otakon
I am already in the area, and Renee is probably on the way to the airport for her Baltimore flight as we speak. Since we are out of town, it might take a little more time to answer your e-mails. We have an artist alley table, so please come visit us! Will post new costume pictures up when we get back!

Update + New Costume & Photos
Please take note that our policy has been updated.
As you might already know, we got back from Anime Central a couple of weeks ago. Renee debuted her brand new Lum costume! You can check it out here. While I did not have a new costume, I did alter and re-wear Tron Bonne, and I just added a new photo to my Tron costume page.
Our next convention? Otakon in Baltimore, Maryland! We put in a request for a table in the Artist Alley a few days ago. So, hopefully we can see you in the AA. ^_^ It's already less than two months away!

Ohayocon 2009
Please note that RedStar's policy page has been updated.
It's been a couple of weeks since we've got back from Ohayocon and we've been busy with orders and convention planning. We'd like to say thank you to all the lovely people who attended our panels "Cosplay 100: Getting Started" and "Cosplay 101: Construction." We might be doing panels for ACEN and Otakon, so stay tuned!
Jumario and his girlfriend, Jackie, are great customers of ours, and they commissioned Bridget and Rukia costumes a little while back. They wore them to Ohayocon, and Jumario proposed to Jackie on stage at the masquerade...wearing their costumes!

Congratulations!! ^_^
